How to set up an email forwarder or autoresponder

Forwarders automatically send copies of incoming mail to another address. Autoresponders automatically reply to incoming mail (useful for “out of office” messages).

DirectAdmin

  • Forwarders — open E-mail Forwarders, enter the address to forward from and the destination address, then click Create.
  • Autoresponders — open Autoresponders, choose the mailbox, write your message, and save.

cPanel

  • Forwarders — open Forwarders, click Add Forwarder, and enter the source and destination addresses.
  • Autoresponders — open Autoresponders, click Add Autoresponder, choose the mailbox, write your subject and message body, and optionally set a start/end date.
