Email client setup: IMAP, POP3, and SMTP settings

To connect your mailbox to Outlook, Apple Mail, or a phone email app, use these settings:

  • Incoming server (IMAP) — recommended, keeps mail synced across devices. Port 993 (SSL).
  • Incoming server (POP3) — downloads mail to one device only. Port 995 (SSL).
  • Outgoing server (SMTP) — port 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS).
  • Server hostname — usually mail.yourdomain.com.
  • Username — your full email address.
  • Password — the mailbox password you set when creating the account.

Both control panels can generate ready-made configuration for you automatically:

  • DirectAdmin — open an email account under E-mail Accounts and click Show Client Configuration for exact settings and a QR code.
  • cPanel — use the Connect Devices page under Email Accounts for ready-made configuration for common apps and a QR code for mobile setup.
