How to upload your website files using File Manager

To upload files without needing an FTP client:

DirectAdmin

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin and open File Manager.
  2. Navigate to the public_html (or domains/yourdomain.com/public_html) folder — this is your website's root directory.
  3. Click Upload Files and choose the files from your computer (zip archives are supported).
  4. If you uploaded a zip file, select it and click Extract.

cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel and open File Manager.
  2. Navigate to the public_html folder.
  3. Click Upload, then choose the files from your computer.
  4. If you uploaded a zip file, right-click it in File Manager and choose Extract.

Either way, make sure your homepage file is named index.html or index.php so it loads automatically. For larger sites, an FTP client such as FileZilla using the credentials from your welcome email is usually faster than either web-based file manager.
