A subdomain lets you run a separate section of your site, like blog.yourdomain.com or shop.yourdomain.com.
DirectAdmin
- In DirectAdmin, open Subdomain Management.
- Enter the subdomain name (e.g.
blog) and click Create. - A matching folder is created automatically under
public_html.
cPanel
- In cPanel, open Subdomains.
- Enter the subdomain name and select your main domain.
- The document root will be filled in automatically — you can leave it as-is or customize it.
- Click Create.
Upload files for the subdomain into the folder created for it, just like you would for your main site.
