Changing your PHP Version in cPanel

You can change your PHP version in cPanel using either "Select PHP Version" (recommended) or "MultiPHP Manager", depending on whether you want to change it account-wide or per domain.

Using Select PHP Version (recommended)

This uses CloudLinux's hardened PHP builds and offers the most configuration options.

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Find Select PHP Version under the Software section (or search for it).
  3. Use the dropdown next to "Current PHP version" to choose a new version, then click Apply. This changes PHP for your entire cPanel account.

You can confirm the change afterward with a PHP info page.

Using MultiPHP Manager

Use this if you need different PHP versions on different domains within the same cPanel account.

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Find MultiPHP Manager under the Software section.
  3. Tick the domain(s) you want to change, choose a PHP version from the dropdown, and click Apply.
